Ozone is measured in parts per billion (ppb). Calculation based on one hour data until 2024 Dec 05 14:00 Data collected at BMKG, Cibeureum, Indonesia.

Ozone is an inorganic molecule with the chemical formula O3. It is an allotrope of oxygen that is much less stable than the diatomic allotrope O2, breaking down in the lower atmosphere to O2. Ozone is formed from dioxygen by the action of ultraviolet light and electrical discharges within the Earth's atmosphere. It is present in very low concentrations, with its highest concentration high in the ozone layer of the stratosphere, which absorbs most of the Sun's ultraviolet radiation.

Particulate Matter is measured in micrograms per cubic meter of air (µg/m3). Calculation based on data within 2024 Dec 04 22:00 Data collected at BMKG, Cibeureum, Indonesia.

Particulate matter (PM) are microscopic particles of solid or liquid matter suspended in the air. Sources of particulate matter can be natural or anthropogenic. They have impacts on climate and precipitation that adversely affect human health, in ways additional to direct inhalation. Coarse particles, designated PM10, which are coarse particles with a diameter of 10 micrometers or less. Fine particles, designated PM2.5, with a diameter of 2.5 micrometers or less.

About AirMonitor

Center for Climate Risk and Opportunity Management in Southeast Asia Pacific (CCROM-SEAP) in Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Agency for The Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT) and Meteorological, Climatological, and Geophysical Agency (BMKG) have been implementing joint monitoring of greenhouse gases and air pollutants with National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES).

The monitoring system installed at three sites in Indonesia: Bogor (center of Bogor city) in March 2016, Serpong (Jakarta suburb) in August 2016, and Cibeureum (mountainous area, background-like site) in March 2017.
